Completion of ATSIP Level 1 required

Ready to become a real expert when it comes to working with sex issues? This is the next level.

ATSIP Level 2 offers deep discussions in an intimate, small-group setting. Topics are guided by your needs and interests.

Join ATSIP Level 2 and:

  • Get in-depth consultation with me for your most challenging cases.
  • Build on the skills you learned in Assessing and Treating Sex Issues Level 1and get ongoing access to the course site, including any new material, for as long as you're enrolled in the group.
  • Connect with a tight-knit community of therapists dedicated to professional growth.
  • Dive deep into the topics you want to explore: relational issues, desire, physiological issues, polyamory, and more. This course is built around the subjects that you request!
  • Have the option to be listed as a sex-aware therapist, coach, or other provider in the Provider Locator on my website. The Provider Locator is a tool to help clients and therapists find you, and only practitioners who have completed Assessing and Treating Sex Issues in Psychotherapy are invited to join.

ATSIP Level 2 is an ongoing supportive community designed to nurture your skills and provide you with high-quality consultation as you tackle challenging sex and relational issues in therapy.

I want to give you the confidence to keep growing as a sex-aware therapistknowing that I have your back, no matter what comes up in session.

This is the best way to consult with me and get my feedback on your cases as they develop.

How does it work?

We meet for 90 minutes twice a month to explore topics and cases selected by the participants. Choose one of three groups, meeting at either 11am Central Time USA, 1pm Central Time USA, or 5pm Central Time USA. Here's a world clock where you can check how those times correspond to your local time zone.

After eight months of participating in the group and successfully completing the monthly learning assessments, you'll qualify for Level 2 ATSIP certification as well as 24 AASECT CEUs.* But that doesn't mean you have to leave the group! It's designed to provide ongoing support as you grow as a therapist, and many students have stayed with us from the pilot session to today.

If you can't make all the meetings, don't worry; we'll provide you with recordings of the sessions on our private course platform.

Group sizes are VERY limited to provide an intimate discussion setting with tons of personal attention.

*This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 1.5 CE credits per meeting. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Participants Are Saying

Words cannot express the impact Martha has had on me, not only as a mental health professional, but as a human being. She is, hands down, one of the most influential people in my life; she is a model of human kindness and professional integrity. I've learned greatly about human sexuality and healthy relationships through her razor-sharp intuition and clinical and teaching skills. It is a mighty combination! I am grateful for the community she has built through the ATSIP Level 2 Consulting Groups, and I look at my time there with love and appreciation.

Vanessa Harvell, LMFT - Los Angeles, California

I find my connection to this group to be invaluable and crucial to the ongoing success of my work with clients.  The support is grounding and helps me to keep striving to be the best I can be at working with such difficult issues.  I am especially grateful for Martha’s leadership and expertise, as well as her warm and very real approach to the material.

Scott Ferguson, LCSW - New York and California

I appreciate Martha's warmth, timekeeping, and good boundaries. I feel good hands on the reins in this group -- Martha's leadership makes all the difference to my feeling of gaining both community and skill. I feel "seen" and included, and I take away immediate skills/tools/conceptualization ideas that I use on my couples that week.

Sarah Lincoln Pattee, MA, LPC - Portland, Oregon

Once again, I leave my consultation group with Martha, untangled.  You can bring the most convoluted case and Martha will show you how to sort through it to the most core and salient issues.  If you want the pleasure and joy of the adventures we go on together, join one of Martha’s consultation groups!  Hope to see you there!

Lori Keegan, MSW, MFT, MS - Topeka, Kansas

Through complex cases, the position Martha takes is very centered and grounded in who she is as a therapist. This inspires me to take a stance and confront my own biases and blindspots, and energizes me to look deeper into my own self as a therapist.
